Bridges provide a balancing opportunity for children. They give children an opportunity to “meet in the middle” of a play area and are appropriate for all ages. Narrower walking spaces are appropriate for older children.
Pommel Walkers and the Space Walk provide balance, jumping and leaping opportunities. They also develop problem solving skills, as children are forced to make mind-body calculations as they navigate through the space. Double Pommel Walkers add an additional level of difficulty because they provide an opportunity for multiple students to participate at once, meaning the problem solving changes every time the Double Pommel Walkers are used.
Log Rolls are fun opportunities to develop both balance and lower body muscular strength as well as cardiovascular endurance.
Parallel Bars encourage balance and may be more beneficial than Log Rolls as they allow more children to play at once.
